Journey Ten Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping churches and organizations with the knowledge, resources, and strategies needed to provide compassionate care and meaningful support to individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and their caregivers.
Founded in 2024 out of both passion and personal experience, Journey Ten exists to bridge the gap between the desire to help and the understanding of how to do so effectively. As the prevalence of dementia continues to rise, it is crucial for communities of faith to be prepared to walk alongside those affected, offering both practical support and Christ-centered care.
Nicole Seabolt MS, CCC-SLP, DCS, DCC-CI, RAC-CT, CGCP
Nicole founded Journey Ten Foundation in 2024, driven by both personal experience and a deep passion for supporting individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. Her journey has been shaped by walking alongside her grandfather, patients, their families, and multiple families in her church, witnessing firsthand the profound challenges dementia presents. Through these experiences, she gained invaluable insight into the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of both those diagnosed and their loved ones, fueling her commitment to equipping communities with the knowledge and resources needed to offer compassionate, meaningful care.
As a dedicated healthcare professional, Nicole holds a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and serves as Vice President of Clinical Advancement. With over twelve years of experience in clinical practice, program development, and leadership, she has worked extensively with patients and families navigating dementia care. She is a Certified Dementia Care Specialist, a Certified Geriatric Care Professional, and a Clinical Instructor for the Dementia Capable Care Foundations & Behavior Course, having trained hundreds of healthcare professionals.
Alongside her husband, Josh, who pastors their church, Nicole saw the desire of church communities to support those affected by dementia but also recognized a gap in understanding how to do so effectively. This realization ignited her calling to equip churches with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide person-centered, compassionate care.
Nicole’s work is deeply personal. Her grandfather’s journey—from a frontotemporal lobe dementia diagnosis in life to a posthumous Lewy body dementia diagnosis—shaped her approach to dementia care education. She intertwines his story along with the stories of others throughout her teaching to inspire others to advance their knowledge, ensuring that individuals living with dementia receive the highest quality of life possible.
At Journey Ten Foundation, we believe that no one should walk the dementia journey alone. Through education, resources, and faith-based support, we empower churches and communities to be a source of hope, understanding, and care.
